To determine which head gasket you require, you will need to measure the distance from top-most face of each piston to the upper surface of the cylinder head. In order to obtain an accurate reading, Heavy Duty Pros recommends measuring this distance using 4 spots around the perimeter of each piston with a dial gauge in order to determining the "Average" protrusion or recession per piston.
2 Notch (Thinnest) - 0.90 mm thickness before tightening, 0.80 mm after tightening. To be used with Piston Recession of -0.07 mm to a Protrusion of +0.049 mm
1 Notch (Mid) - 1.00 mm thickness before tightening, 0.90 mm after tightening. To be used with Piston Protrusion of +0.050 mm to +0.149 mm
No Notch (Thickest) - 1.05 mm thickness before tightening, 0.95 mm after tightening. To be used with Piston Protrusion of +0.150 mm to +0.20 mm
